The Strong One

This panel is built from aluminum composite material (ACM) — two aluminum sheets bonded around a rigid core — and primed with three coats of Rublev Colours' Lead Alkyd Ground, a professional-grade oil ground. The lead-alkyd formula bonds superbly to metal, creating a surface that grips paint without pulling oil out of it, so colors stay luminous rather than sinking in or drying dull. The result is a rigid, warp-free support with a museum-grade painting surface underneath — one of the most stable and durable foundations available for oil work.

To further protect your investment, the painting is varnished with a removable varnish in a beautiful satin sheen. This keeps the painting protected from dust, moisture, and UV damage over time, while the varnish can be safely removed and reapplied decades from now without disturbing the paint underneath—giving it a long, stable life as an heirloom piece
